American anti-vaccine sentiment has grown steadily over the past two decades, and vaccines have never been as controversial as they are now during the pandemic. The COVID-19 vaccine was made available to everyone in Colorado six months ago, but only about 60% of the population is fully vaccinated — and that’s one of the better rates in the country. In neighboring Wyoming, only 41.6% of the population is fully vaccinated.
Wherever there’s controversy, there’s a legal story. I’ve been reporting on workplace vaccination requirements, and I’ll be doing more as President Biden’s mandates are implemented (and challenged in the courts).
But employment lawyers aren’t the only ones dealing with vaccine disputes. The shots have also become a point of contention for divorced parents. For our June family law issue, I spoke to attorneys about the coming wave of custody battles over COVID-19 vaccines.
